One of Sandvik’s innovations is Tundo, a new super-efficient down-the-hole hammer. When miners use Tundo in their drill rigs, they can save vast amounts of fossil fuel and carbon dioxide emissions. To make the mining companies aware of this, we called out to Tommy Persson. We asked Tommy to show how much diesel – counted in barrels – an average surface mine could save in a year using Tundo. There were enough barrels to build the world’s tallest tower. One thousand meters high.
Launched by the end of 2021, the campaign is still running as the most effective campaign ever published by Sandvik. Tundo makes a small contribution to a big change, and is considered as a huge success.
